Sid Griffin
American singer-songwriter Sid Griffin is probably best known for leading the Long Ryders and the Coal Porters, but he is also a successful solo performer and author.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Sid moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s to form Americana pioneers the Long Ryders.

The band enjoyed success as part of the “Paisley Underground” scene that was influenced by 1960s groups such as Love and The Byrds.

In the 1990s, Sid formed the Coal Porters, who claim to be the world’s first “alt-bluegrass” act, demonstrating the power of fiddle, mandolin, banjo, acoustic guitar and doghouse bass, matched with four-part harmonies and memorable melodies.

Sid still records and tours with both bands
