Mortimer Brewster, a sharp-witted theatre critic whose life is turned upside down when he discovers a shocking family secret.
His sweet, elderly aunts have been poisoning lonely old men -- considering it an act of charity!
To make matters worse, his brother Teddy is convinced he’s Theodore Roosevelt and has been enthusiastically digging “locks for the Panama Canal” — which are actually graves in the basement.
Things spiral further out of control with the sudden arrival of Jonathan, Mortimer’s long-lost brother, sporting a sinister new face (courtesy of a botched plastic surgery) and a penchant for murder.
With mistaken identities, hidden bodies, and chaotic cover-ups, Arsenic and Old Lace offers an ensemble of eccentric, larger-than-life characters, razor-sharp timing, and deliciously macabre humour
